Pablo Amster

PhD in Mathematics from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where he is currently Professor of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, of which he was Director until 2016. He is a lead investigator of CONICET.


He is the author of more than one hundred scientific research papers and two books in the area of ​​differential equations, one of them published by Springer NY. He collaborates in different research projects in argentine and foreign universities, among them the "Musical Evolution" project of the MUNTREF Art and Science Center.


He holds lectures and outreach seminars and writes texts aimed at a broad audience. He has published, among others, the books Mathematics as one of the fine arts (Siglo XXI, 2004, with more than 150000 copies distributed), Much, little, nothing. A little mathematical walk (Ed. Norma, 2007), Fragments of a mathematical discourse (Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2007), Mathematics, Master! A concert for numbers and orchestra (Siglo XXI, 2010) and Game Theory. A mathematical introduction to decision making (Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2014. Co-authored with J. P. Pinasco). Some of his books have been translated into Portuguese and Chinese.
